Your Realtor should have been up to date on this stuff and advise you to chose a few days later. Sorry

It actually started on April 9th (my birthday!), just when the government decided to do it I guess. The date that the gov. goes by is your closing date. If you took out a loan for the house and had a closing that is the date you go by. Doesn’t sound like you would qualify, sorry : ( The government is not known for being fair.

I too don’t understand why they can’t do it from the beginning of the year. I closed on my home on 04/01/08. It really sucks to see that they won’t make it from the beginning of the year… Just my luck!

I would like to know also. What is the deal with April 9th? We closed on our home the 7th of April 2008. Doesn’t get much worse than that. We helped stimulate the economy and home buying as much as people did starting the 9th of April. Yet if you were having a home built then its according to the first day you inhabited it, which of course would make you on the honor system. Does that seem fair?

this site helps a little, but i think you meant april 8, 2008 right and to claim the date is your closing date not move in or pre-approved loan, at least thats what i am told. now i saw on internet saying obama might have where we dont have to pay back the 7,500 who know i am trying to found out this too. so if your closing date was after april 8 2008 then u quilfy so get that money
