If you are in Canada, you will need two years of re-established credit and usually a minimum of $ 3500 restraining if you are looking for 100% financing

Keep hearing that the first time home buyer credit can now be used for a down payment. Trying to find out if that is true or what the qualifications/requirements are for that.

I have not heard that and do not know how that would be possible as the tax ascribed would be given to you when you file for your 2009 tax returns next spring

Hi. I’m a first time home buyer in Monterey County of Ca. I’m trying to figure out how much I would need to put down on $ 175,000 home in my area. I would greatly appreciate any insight or tips on buying my first home as well. Thanks a bunch.

FHA 3%-5% = $ 5,250.00 – $ 8,750.00Normal 20% = $ 35,000.00Aim for 20%, but look in to FHA and remember closing costs are separateand to budget for them.

I’m trying to get my first home and I maintaining seeing stuff for gov. grants but I’m not finding anything…I really postulate help with the down payment.

There are several government programs. A few of the government programs are meant to help people to stay in their homes by making their current mortgages affordable. There also is 1 to assist new housing buyers by providing a $ 8,000 tax credit, but this is money that you get back after purchasing. It does not provide you with assistance in coming up with a down payment. For more information about the program see the attached article.
